Washington - Acrylic Cutout State Map

The shape of the state is cut out from a thick sheet of transparent acrylic and reverse-painted (painted from the backside only) in black, so the surface is clear but the black backing shines through. The state highways routes are carved out (routed) about halfway through the thick acrylic from the backside of the panel after it has been painted black. The paths are then reverse-painted in grey to give an additional level of clean contrast with the black. This creates an incredible 3-dimensional (3D) effect within the panel, as the highway routes are suspended within the transparent body of the state.

Cleaning & Care: The artwork is crafted from thick acrylic that can easily be dusted or cleaned with a soft cotton cloth, dry or damp. Avoid using household cleaners - use mild hand soap if necessary.

Mounting: The artwork has brackets on the backside, which hang nicely on a set of nails, screws or picture hooks from any hardware store. The back also has similar spacers toward the bottom that allow the artwork to "float" off the wall when mounted.
